| My name is Joe Ramirez; I've occasionally signed my name as "Phar." My style is a combination of bright colors and interesting characters, with heavy comics and graphic novel influence. I have attempted many mediums such as oils, acrylics, watercolor, airbrush, pen and ink, pencils, clay, and Photoshop, but the bulk of my work is done in oils and pen and ink. I because interested in art at age three, and I learned to draw from my father who works as a sign writer and set painter. When I first graduated high school, I had planned to pursue my dream of becoming a hand drawn animator. I soon found out that it was a dying art form, so I dropped out of college to reassess my goals. After that, I started to take classes and work as an automotive refinisher. Through this I was able to grab side jobs airbrushing cars, one of which won a second place trophy for Best Paint in a Las Vegas low rider show. I soon found out that going back to college would be a better time investment. I'm currently an Art major at California State University, Northridge where I'm studying for a Bachelors in Illustration. |

I'm not entirely web savvy, so my girlfriend (who also isn't web savvy) is helping me put this stuff up. Do you have any deviant art tips for us?
